Have you ever been working for an employer and a customer sent in a gift to thank everyone for doing a good job for them?  When I worked in offices this happened all the time, especially around Christmas time.  One customer sent in a box of cookies one day to the office staff and even though I no longer work for the company, I can still remember her name.  This is called “good marketing.”

As a notary signing agent, you can use this same idea to market your company to signing, title and mortgage companies.  The first step is to decide what type of product you are going to provide to your customers (depending on your budget of course.)  Here are a few companies that specialize in promotional products you can buy with your company name and contact information imprinted:

http://www.amsterdamprinting.com/
http://www.4imprint.com/
http://www.branders.com/
http://www.leaderpromos.com/
http://www.epromos.com/
http://www.empirepromos.com/
http://www.goldengatepromo.com/

Or you can find more companies if you go to any search engine and type in the search words “promotional items.”  Have fun shopping!

Who Do You Give Promotional Products To?

It depends on the type of item you purchase. If you purchase promotional items like pens, letter openers, etc. you can give these to every person you hand your business card to.  Just make sure you buy an item the business is most likely to use.  In other words, you wouldn't want to walk into a title company, hand them your business card and a golf ball as a promotional item.  Instead, you would select office products as promotional items so they can be utilized by the business.

Or, when you do several signings for one particular company (and you want to continue working with them), you could send a Thank You card or even a box of munchies (like the lady who sent us the cookies.)  Here are a few places where you can order corporate-type thank you gifts:

http://www.hersheygifts.com/

Or, go to any search engine and type in the search words “corporate gifts” and find even more selections.

Then, the next time someone goes out of their way to help you, or provides you with a lot of repeat business, you can send them one of your promotional items.  This will keep your company name in front of them as well as making your name well-known.

But some people (who wish to remain greedy) do not see the importance in even taking the time to send a Thank You card to the companies who give them repeat business.  Instead, they concentrate on keeping every dime they make instead of following the golden rule of “It takes money to make money.”  The overall impact you achieve by providing promotional items to the companies you enjoy working for is worth $1,000s of dollars. Unfortunately, greedy people do not see the benefit because their concentration is only on what is happening at the moment and not how their actions effect them in the long run.
